Sometimes a girl just needs to write.
I’ve made many compartments to keep my life organized. I’ve portioned out space for dance and for reading, for work, for chores and duties, for fun and for contemplation. While the activities are varied, I have a difficult time separating them when it comes time to want to write. When I dance, it is all of me that is influenced by the dancing, just as my dancing is influenced by every facet of who I am and what I do. When I work, I can’t shut off the other parts of myself and let work take over to the exclusion of everything else. So it makes sense that, when I write, that writing needs to touch on more than one facet of who I am at any given time.
And so here I am.
